My Too Faced Melted Violet Lipstick Review
My thoughts: The melted lipsticks are a new and permanent formula in Too Faced’s lip collection that claims you will “get the staying power of a stain and the intense color of a liquid lipstick in one long-wear formula” and that my friends is no joke!
This electric violet shade is jam packed with pigment to give you an intensely colored lip with serious saying power. I was afraid that by being a liquid lipstick, that this product would resemble a lipgloss and I was very wrong. It actually reminds me more of an OCC lip tar, now that I’ve tried it.
The formula is a light to medium consistency that feels like a gel when applied. The squeeze tube lipstick comes with a flocked, angled precision tip applicator, which smoothly releases product onto the lips. A little goes a long way, so there is no need to squeeze too hard when using this lipstick. According to Too Faced, you don’t need a lip liner when using this applicator, but I have to disagree. I still would suggest using one to get into the hard to reach areas of the lips.
Once applied, the melted lipstick feels lightweight on the lips and once it dries, it leaves a nice a smooth satin finish. After wearing it for a little while, the lipstick starts to look more matte, but it remains moist at all times. Beware, it’s not kiss-proof (bummer!), but it does stay on the lips without bleeding or feathering.
The lipstick wears very comfortably with a cushiony feel and last for hours. My lips tend to suck up lip products and I was surprised that this lipstick lasted for about 5 hours until I had to touch up. Even after it wore off, it left a nice magenta stain on my lips, which I thought was super cute.
I love my Too Faced Melted Violet Lipstick and I’m sealing this one with a kiss!
