It has taken me far too long to get this post up. The truth is that the struggle of catching a sunny day in Seattle is real. After many failed attempts, I was finally able to get some shots of this outfit. Without further ado, let me introduce you to one of the most stunning dresses I have ever worn: The Miranda stripe shirt dress from the Girl with Curves collection.
In case you’ve been living under a rock or taking a hardcore social media detox, a few months ago Tanesha Awasthi of Girl with Curves partnered with Dia&Co to drop her first collection. If you’re familiar with Tanesha’s style, you know that her signature style is classic and preppy with fashion-forward touches. Naturally, the plus size community was stoked to hear about this collaboration and the collection dropped during CurvyCon in September as part of Dia&Co’s initiative to #MoveFashionFoward.
I for one was ecstatic to check out the collection and the second I saw The Miranda Shirt Dress, I knew I needed to have it for two reasons. One, my inner Beetle Juice aficionada saw many fashionable Beetle Juice Halloween costume ideas flashing. Two, the realistic side of me saw a versatile piece that can be styled in endless ways. Basically, a fall staple to style throughout the season with endless possibilities.
Girl with Curves Collection: Miranda Stripe Shirt Dress
For this particular outfit, I went for a classic black and white look. I paired the dress with a faux leather moto jacket (another fall staple) to keep me warm in the chilly weather. I’m short (5’2) and the high-low silhouette of this dress calls for heels. My Sorel Medina sandals have a chunky heel that compliments this dress. I accessorized the look with round sunnies and geometric jewelry for a look that is modern, edgy and fashion-forward. I love how I feel when I wear this outfit. Something about it makes me feel like a total badass and in my book, that’s what a good outfit should do.
This week I’m planning to style my Miranda Stripe Shirt Dress from the Girl with Curves collection with jeans. Make sure to check out my Instagram (@PrettyInPigment) to see how the Miranda Stripe dress looks with jeans.
