Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation Review
Love Urban Decay? Take a look at my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review & Swatches
I decided to try the Naked Skin foundation because I wanted a liquid foundation with a light coverage, while leaving my skin even and smooth. I have found that many liquid foundation’s can be heavy, and for everyday use I want something that still allows my pores to breath. My skin has also been sensitive lately, so the fact that the foundation is packed with nourishing ingredients also was a plus for me. After hearing all of the buzz for various bloggers and beauty guru’s, I decided to give it a try!
Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Foundation collection features 18 shades to match any skin tone. Urban decay describes this product as a weightless coverage liquid foundation with a demi-matte finish. Additionally, the product is design to give flawless coverage and will leave your skin with a radiant glow.
The company created a very nice online campaign for the foundation on their website, which helps you find the right shade for you. They have a “switch your foundation” section, which will help you match the right shade for your skin based on the product you are currently using. You can also use their “find your shade” scale, which helps you select your shade based on the model displayed for each shade.
I picked up my Naked Skin foundation at Ulta and paid $34.00 for an 8.1 fl oz bottle. I think the price was average and for a reasonable amount of product. I thought the packaging was also clean and sleek, which compliments the product well. To pick the right shade, I swatched the colors on my jawline. I picked for 4.5, but I was on the fence between 4.5 and 4.0.
After trying the foundation for a few weeks, I feel pretty happy with the product. I feel that the shade is a little to pink for my complexion; I wish I had gotten the 4.0 or 5.0 shade (I should have checked the website prior to purchasing). I really like the fact that the coverage is buildable, so on days that I want a little more, I just push harder on the controllable dispensing pump. The liquid foundation is very thin and almost has a gel like feeling, which is pretty nice. The coverage is smooth, especially if you use a beauty blender or a dou-fiber brush for application. If you have sensitive skin like me, this is a great product that will not make you break out.
My only complaint is in the longevity department, but it may be because I have oily skin. Even with a primer, I feel that the foundation only stays strong for about 4-5 hours. I can tell when it’s dwindling away because my face starts to look shinny and some people have even used the dreaded term “oily” to describe the look. Adding a little touch up powder helps, but does not fix the problem completely for me.
Overall I think the product offers exactly what Urban Decay promises; a lightweight flawless coverage, just don’t expect it to last too long.Similar Post: Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review & Swatches

I also found that this product doesn’t last very well on my skin. It looks and feels great, but it starts to kinda melt off or wear off and you can see the redness peaking through after a while. >_<

I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels that way. I know it’s a light formula, but I don’t feel that it should sacrifice longevity.

Great review! I have been wondering about the longevity of this foundation. Its all very well that it looks good but will it last through my work day? You answered that so thank you for your honest review! I think I will stick with my EL Doublewear 🙂

This is a very light foundation and its not very long lasting for me. It could be because I have oily skin, but personally I wouldn’t recommend it for a full day of wear. Hope that helps and thanks for reading 🙂
