Sleek Cosmetics- Divine Acid Palette
*R.I.P silver eye shadow…read on to find out more!*
Cost: $11.00 plus shipping.
Shipping/ Delivery: I purchased my acid palette from Ebay, since the sleek cosmetics site would not let me send it to the states. The shipping was like $6.00…not to shabby but the delivery took forever! Mostly because it was coming from over seas. At one point, I thought I had been scammed…so I started to write the seller an email. That same day (about three weeks from the date I ordered)….I received my package.
Packaging: The palette was shipped in a regular shipping envelope with bubble wrap to secure the item. As far as the product packaging, it is very basic….and sleek! lol. Just a clear box that holds the all black palette.
The Product: The palette is about medium size and is about the size of my hand. When you first open the palette, there is a mirror at the top and the shadows at the bottom. All 12 colors are about the size of a nickel. The palette also contains a double sided sponge applicator.
The broken silver is such an eye sore…ouch! |

The Verdict: I had such a hard time getting my shadows. After I saw Xsparkage’s twitter default….I knew I needed these bright neon’s in my life. So when I found out they were by sleek, I immediately checked out there site. I was so disappointed when I found out they wouldn’t ship it to Florida, so I moved on to my next option….EBAY! Nothing you can’t buy on ebay! I found a seller in the UK and I placed my order…after that, I played the waiting game.
The day I finally received my package I was ecstatic! So happy, that when I showed my mom….I accidentally dropped it off the edge of the kitchen counter! After that happened, I froze…I was so scared to pick up the palette. Sure, enough the silver eyeshadow had cracked into pieces!
As far at the shadow quality, you cant really complain considering the price. They are not the best eye shadows in the world, however, they do offer pretty good color pay off as long as you use a primer and pack on the shadow (and don’t use the generic sponge applicator!). The white… is nearly invisible even if use a ton. I’m not a fan of this color.
The colors have a good texture, except for the neon shades which are a little chalky. The neon colors are my favorite (Surprise! Surprise!) but I found a resolution for the chalkiness. Simply, put a piece of toilet paper under your eye when you are applying the shadow to reduce the amount of fall out the lands on your face. I also like the nice big mirror that comes included, but I am not a fan of the sponge applicator. The first thing I did was throw it away!
My favorite thing about the divine acid palette was of course the neon colors, and the fact that they do react to UV light. I tested them under my brothers black light and they were beaming! One of my favorite indie clubs has a highlighter party, I can’t wait to wear these colors to the next event there or a rave.
To be honest, the neon colors is what reeled me into this palette. If it wasn’t for those shades I probably would have passed. But, with time I started to appreciate some of the other colors as well. All in all, for the price, 12 shadows, and the funky colors, you can’t get a better deal. Just remember to be gentle with the shadows and don’t place them on any edges like I did.
