Every year when fall rolls around, my inner goth girl gets excited to bring a deeper color palette back into my wardrobe and makeup look. Vampy lip colors. Head-to-toe black. Burgandy tones. You get the drift. This year, I think my inner goth girl may be a little ruffled with my fashion choices. I’ve brought back some of the fall staples, but I’ve also kept my favorite color of the year: blush. Also known as millennial pink to some. I’ve embraced this color for months and now I’m enjoying it through the fall.
Fall Fashion Essential: Pink Velvet Midi Skirt
I have several blush pieces in my wardrobe nowadays, but my latest obsession is my pink velvet midi skirt. This little number is everything I look for in a seasonal piece. It’s trendy, it’s affordable, and best of all– it’s velvet! Yep, a beautiful crushed velvet that adds a nice dose of texture to any look that I wear it with. I particularly love the detailed waistband on this skirt because it gives my look added dimension.
I recently styled this look to meet up with my gal pal for cupcakes. Ok, who am I kidding? We met up to take blog post pics, but the cupcake part was totally the best part of hanging out. I loved the way that I felt in this outfit, so I ended up re-wearing the look to work just the other day. I feel great when I wear this outfit and most importantly, I feel like myself. I think it’s the fact that this look balances my inner girly girl with my inner goth girl in a way that keeps the both of them happy.
