Valentine’s Day recently passed and I celebrated the day with the ones I love most: my boyfriend and our two dogs.
Since Valentine’s Day fell on a Sunday this year, it was the perfect opportunity to go on a mini road trip, right in our back yard. Especially since we were testing out the 2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring for the week. The dogs loved it when we tested the Mazda Cx-9 because they got to on rides in the crossover, so we figured we would take advantage of having this beauty to take them on a Valentine’s Day trip with us.
Valentine’s Day is all about love, so we visited a few places that we enjoy. It was a beautiful beach day in South Florida, so naturally we started our adventure with a stroll by the water. After walking by the beach for a while we worked up an appetite and enjoyed an outdoor lunch with our pups in a cute natural restaurant that I love. It’s called Mother Earth Sanctuary Café in Lake Worth, Florida. They have the BEST veggie burgers and welcome pets on the patio! We finished our family day by taking the dogs to the dog park and let them burn off some energy while we continued to enjoy the gorgeous weather in South Florida!
This was one probably my favorite Valentine’s Day and I’m so grateful to have been able to spend it with my loved ones.
Speaking of loved ones, here are all of the things that we all LOVED about the Mazda Cx-5!
6 Things to Love About the Mazda CX-5
Adorable Color- You know me, I’m all about color and I was impressed with the intense color of this Mazda CX-5. The color is called Soul Red (a stunning metallic red) and it combines beauty, with a fierce masculinity that was divine! What was even more fascinating is learning how this color came to life, from a concept car color, to a real world color that can withstand the elements.
Advanced Keyless Entry System- This was Brandon’s favorite feature about the car. I have to admit, I really liked it to. It makes it easy to get in and out of the car, without having to dig around for keys. My keys are always down in the depths of my purse, but this feature allows you to lock and unlock the vehicle with a simple push of a button.
7’’ Color Touch Screen Display- Technology is really important to me when it comes to a car, and this pretty display was one of my favorite features. The screen was big so it came in handy when we needed to use the GPS system. The car also came with SiriusXM, which is my favorite way to listen to music.
Heated Front Seats- It doesn’t get cold in Florida often, but it’s been chilly over the last few weeks. Since it was cool and breezy on Valentine’s Day, we kept the heated seats on, while riding with the windows and the moon roof open.
Space for The Dogs- While the dogs weren’t able to physically tell me what they loved most about the CX-5, I can predict it would have been the space. As soon as we popped open the cargo door, my furry kids hopped right into the car. They are big kids and they fit in the back just fine, even when the back seats weren’t down.
Mazda Drive For Good: This isn’t exactly a feature specific to the car, but it’s probably my favorite thing about Mazda.
In 2013, Mazda launched a program called Mazda Drive For Good. Since then they have donated $7.6 million and pledged more than 120,000 charitable service hours to charitable organizations. As part of the program, they gave me a $25 gift card to donate to a charity of my choice on their behalf. Since the furry kids had such a great day in the CX-5, I decided to make a contribution to help other rescue Dobermans, particularly the rescue where we adopted Diesel from.
This charitable program is very heart warming and I’m happy that Mazda is doing so much to help local communities around the country. To learn more, check out the #MazdaDrive4Good hashtag on social media.
If Mazda gave you $25 to donate to a charity of your choice, what organization would you contribute to?

new to this blog and that obviously paid content was a little too much.

Hello Amanda! Thanks for reading my post. This story was not paid, I was simply given the opportunity to test drive the car for a week, as I stated in my post. My regular readers know that when I am paid to write a post, it is always clearly stated at the beginning of my post. 🙂
