To put it lightly, 2020 has been an interesting year. We’ve all had to adapt to the “new normal” and with that has come a lot of change. In particular for finding ways to stay fit (both physically and mentally) and to socialize. That’s where roller skating comes to play. It’s been one of those things that the pandemic and TikTok put back in front of us (although it’s never actually left), making it one of the biggest crazes of the year. Because of this you probably have at least one skater on your shopping list and why you’re looking for gift ideas for roller skaters.
As a skater myself and one that reconnected with my love for the sport in 2020, I have rounded up what I feel are great gift ideas for roller skaters of any skill level and style!
15 Gift Ideas for Roller Skaters
Rollerstuff Toe Caps
Toe caps are not only a fun way to add a dash of personal style to skates, but they also protect skates from scuffs. They’re especially useful for newbie skaters that are taking more falls or park skaters. Rollerstuff (side note this is a small woman-owned business) makes really high-quality toe caps that match Moxi skates perfectly. But they don’t have to be used on just Moxi Lolly skates, they can be used on any boot style skate with removable toe stops.
Social Distance Skate Club Sticker
Speaking of quarantine skating. This fun sticker by MelTDesignsCo on Etsy makes a great stocking stuffer. It’s basically the skate squad all skaters belonged to in 2020!
Daisy Skate Lace Charms
Fun stocking stuffer alert! These daisies by EscapingTheOrdinary on Etsy are a groovy way to accessories any pair of skates. My friend gave me a few for my birthday and I love mixing up the colors on my skates. Not into daisies? Peep around Etsy for other fun options.
Moxi Fun Bag Fanny Pack
Fanny packs are making a comeback, but I’m not sure they ever left the skate circle. They are the perfect hands-free pouch to keep things in. There are many Fanny packs on the market and the price tag on these is a bit steep, but the Moxi Fun Bag is made of the same high-quality suede as their skates. Plus, you gab get one to match your special someone’s skates.

Roller Skate Ornament
Know a quarantine skater? What a better way to help them remember the year they started skating than with a skate ornament for their tree? You can order a pre-made skate from Bethany Royston Art Studio, or you can get a custom skate to match your gift receiver’s skates.
Skate Leash
A pretty skate leash makes it easy to keep skates together, while also transporting them from place to place. Etsy has tons of options, from a leopard skate leash to a rainbow! If you like my daisy print skate leash (pictured above) by Vonnie of RollerSkate Together, you can snatch it up at Fritzy’s Roller Skate Shop.
Stanley Adventure Quencher
Skating requires hydration and I take my Stanley 40 oz Adventure Quencher for every skate session. It keeps drinks cold (or hot) and has a lid that you can fully close, sip out of, our drink out of a straw. The handle on this one makes it easy to grab too. Did I mention it comes in several sweet colors AND it fits in your car cup holder?
Skate Laces
You can never have too many laces as a skater. They wear out after a while, plus they are nice to change out to personalize skaters. There are lots of laces out there but Derby Laces are well known for their quality and color options.
Note: When shopping for laces, if your favorite skater has Moxi Lolly skates, you’re going to want to pick them the narrow laces for the best fit.
Hammies Shorts
A flashback from the 70s, Hammies Shorts have been a cult classic in the skate community for decades. They are skater approved due to their comfort and funky style. The shorts are made for both men and women in a rainbow of colors to choose from.
Skate Socks
Skater style is very nostalgic and quirky, so the fact that tube socks trend in this community shouldn’t come as a surprise, especially in bright & bold prints. Sock It To Me makes my favorite skate socks because they are thick, warm, and come in so many fun prints.
Bell Bottom Pants
If you know a groovy skater, then they need Shell’s Bells from Moxi. They are super stretchy bell bottoms perfect for a practice session outside or strutting your skills at the rink. They come in three different colors and are size-inclusive.

This one doesn’t need an explanation. Skate style is a thing and this shirt is pretty sweet. Oh, it comes in an adorable hoodie too which is perfect for winter skate sessions.
JBL Clip 3 Portable Speaker
Jams are essential for skating. The JBL Clip 3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker has really great sound for its size and it comes in a bunch of fun colors. I’m really impressed with mine and also bring it with me. Bonus points: it’s easy to clip to a Fanny pack or fence!
Selfie Stick Tripod
This is not your average skate accessory, but hear me out. Recording your skate moves is not only great from the gram but also a say to see yourself in action and to improve. I really like this Selfie Stick Tripod because it can be used as a monopod, it’s expandable and it has a Bluetooth remote. Gifting a tripod will help the skater in your life either become socially famous or at least become a better skater!
