Cost: $ 17.00 for a 7g/.25 oz pot
Store Experience: I purchased my Lime Crime Candy Eyed at Space. NK, which is a specialty shop inside of certain Bloomingdale’s throughout the country. The particular location I visited was in the Aventura Mall, located in Miami, Florida. Margarita was the name of the sales woman, and she was an absolute pleasure to chat with. My overall experience was delightful and has left me wanting to return!
Packaging: The product came in a small little box with mirror writing and detailing. I love Lime Crime packaging because it’s very cutesy and shinny!
The Product: First things first, Lime Crime products are PETA certified, which means no animals are hurt to create their products! Lime Crime Candy Eyed is an eye primer to keep eye makeup in place. The product its self is a beige color. As for the consistency, it feels like a paste, when applied it leaves a smooth velvety finish. It also does not feel heavy at all. The Lime Crime web page raves about the product and says it will keep shadow in place, prevent your shadow from creasing, and can last 24 hrs even on oily eye lids! The box even says it will keep your make up looking flawless all day…hmmm… Is this to good to be true?
I’m not sure why it looked like it was detached…but it still works just fine! |
The Verdict: Since I first tried Lime Crime products about a month ago, I became an instant addict to their products (Check out my last review). I love their motto and everything the company stands for, especially there selection of colorful products and the fact that they are cruelty free!
The Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper truly lives up to its standards. For starters, the product is easy to apply and works easily onto your lids. Upon applying, you will be left with a light weight, matte finished lid. After, you can go ahead and apply your eye colors as you normally would. I tried the eyeshadow helper on two different occasions to put it to the test! Here were my results:
Oh my goodness….look at my sleepy eye! LOL! |
Test #1: This was a shimmery look I created using two shadows and eye liner. I applied this look on at 10 a.m. in the morning. I wore this look to work (BTW, I was working at a summer camp at the time in South Florida…which means loads of humidity and sweat!), then went home and hit the gym. After going to the gym, mind you it’s like 7pm by this time; I showered and started messing with my computer. I finally took this photo before I removed the makeup at about 11p.m. at night. That was 13 hours and the shadow was still going strong!
Test #2: This was a bright, matte, look I wore out on last Saturday night. I started my night off around 6 p.m. and my first stop was a house party. After a few glasses of wine, a karaoke jam session (To spice girls, might I add!) and and dancing my butt off, my eye makeup was still going strong. Not only going strong, but I was receiving compliments left and right! After the party, I met up with some friends at the bowling alley and continued to hang. I finally went home around 2 a.m. Hold your breath ladies, because I am about to confess a major makeup sin! I did what no beauty buff should ever do… I WENT TO BED WITH MAKEUP ON!!! I scarified my pores just so I could take a photo of my makeup when I woke up in the morning. The liner did not really hold up on the second one, but the shadow was still in place and not budging! Please pardon my sleepy eyes, but I literally rolled out of bed at 10 a.m. just to take a picture.
Look at my results. Proof that this product can go through anything!I am totally sold on this product and would recommend it to EVERYONE. It can withstand creasing, oily lids, sweat, humidity, water…who knows, it might withstand the hurricane headed my way this Friday! I will have to test it and see!
