I love clothes. In fact, I’d say my relationship with clothing has reached a level that may cross into hoarding. I take good care of my clothes and use my staples year after year while incorporating trendy items each season, like the pretty skate dresses from Gwynnie Bee that you have seen on my Instagram lately.
Since moving into a smaller space my passion for fashion has been challenged a bit. When I lived in Florida I was spoiled and had three closets all to myself. Fast forward to my life in Seattle and I share one closet with my husband. That’s the price I pay to live in a pretty place. With that said, I have 3/4 of the closet and tons of clothes in storage organized by seasons. Do you see my first world problems here?
I’m left in a hard place because I like to add new pieces to my wardrobe each season. You know, the latest and greatest trends. But that’s hard to do with no space. Thankfully I found a solution– Gwynnie Bee!

Gwynnie Bee Review
Gwynnie Bee is a service that has recently become my best friend. Here’s the scoop. Gwynnie Bee is a plus size clothing subscription service for women sizes 10-32. They have an extensive selection of plus size clothing, which you can rent for as little or as long as you want. It’s basically like sharing a closet with your best gal pal.
Who is Gwynnie Bee good for?
- Gals that want to always keep their look updated with the latest trends.
- Dressing for special events such as wedding season and the holidays.
- When you need a little help refreshing your look.
How Gwynnie Bee works
Once you sign up for a membership with Gwynnie Bee you can select the best plan for your needs. From one garment per month to 10, there are pricing plans to fit every budget. Then, comes the fun part– filling your closet. New styles are added each day so there is always something new to check out from tons of the best plus size brands. Think City Chic, Tracy Reese, Vince Camuto, and more.
Once you add pieces to your virtual closet (add up to 25 to ensure something is always on the way from your list!), your items will ship to you for free (there and back). Then after you wear your Gwynnie Bee threads, you simply drop it in the bag that they provide you and mail it back. No need to even clean the clothing because they dry clean each piece.
How to flawlessly building your Gwynnie Bee closet
Something I really love about using Gwynnie Bee is how easy they make it to select the best clothing for you.
For starters, their size advisor tool is amazing. This techy feature allows you to answer a few questions about your fit across top retailers to determine your size virtually, no measuring tape needed. I’ve used this feature when picking tricky items like jackets with no stretch and I haven’t been disappointed yet.
Another awesome option is their style consultation feature. Maybe you need a little help incorporating color into your wardrobe (I wrote a blog post about 7 easy ways to add color to your wardrobe if you need some pointers) or how to pick the best pieces to fit your shape. Gwynnie Bee offers free styling consultations, all you have to do is book one.
Although I think the sizing advisor tool and the style consultations are great, my favorite thing is the priority list. there have been many occasions in which I have used Gwynnie Bee to rent a dress for an event. Like going to a friends wedding, or a special dinner for work, basically on-time use event. Since I would need these items by a certain time, the priority list comes in handy. Basically, this bumps your picks to the top of your list to ensure you get it before anything else on your list.
What happens if I fall in love with a Gwynnie Bee piece? Can I keep it?
If you are like me, you may actually fall in love with some of your items you receive. That recently happened to me with this London Times fit and flare dress in mixed media print. I not only loved the combination of stripes and florals, but the fit was perfect for my body. So, I decided to keep it! Unlike borrowing clothes from your bestie, Gwynnie Bee allows you to keep items that you love. They even give you a special below retail price. Cool, huh?
Gwynnie Bee review recap
All in all, I love Gwynnie Bee. I can keep my wardrobe updated at all times, without having to take up a ton of space in my closet. Plus, if I fall in love with something, I always have the option to add it into my personal wardrobe. And the major bonus here? Not having to do laundry! Remember, they dry clean all the items for you, all you have to do is stick them in a bag and send them back while you wait for your new box.
