It’s official– Art Basel is among us again!
Although Art Basel Miami doesn’t technically start until Wednesday, the Basel madness has already begun. You know what that means? A gazillion gallery events all over town, artsy parties that go until the break of dawn, and of course the fashion.
To get back in the swing of Basel again, I co-hosted an ” Art of Dressing for Basel” event at Shop Emporium in Coral Gables. This was my first time visiting the shop and I soon as I laid eyes on the store, I knew this was a hot spot for Basel styling.
Dressing for Art Basel Miami is not just about great style; it’s about defining your individuality and wearing it on your sleeve (literally!).
Need a little help styling your Art Basel Miami look? I’ve narrowed down to a few style items that will get you Basel ready just in time for the week long champagne binge.
Personalized Pieces
Art Basel is a great time to show off your personal style. Custom accessories or cute pieces from the Lil Miss Miami collection by TAudrey are a great way to show off your individuality and spark up a conversation.
A sparkly Number
I believe every woman should have a glimmery dress in her fashion arsenal and Art Basel is a great time to rock it! Sequin dresses are great for after parties and can also double as a holiday dress.
Chic Layers
Basel weather is always questionable; so keep layering pieces close by. It’s always nice to have a great sweater, blazer, or kimono on hand in case the temperatures drop, or if you are enjoying an indoor event inside.
Printed Pants
Pick you print poison, whether it be floral or a graphic print, nothing says Art Basel attire better than prints.
Classic Colors
You may think that dressing for Basel means bringing a Picasso painting to life, but some of the best outfits I’ve seen are monochromatic ensembles in all black or all white. Mix these two classic hues for a polished look, such as this color-blocked jumper. Just add a few accessories and you are good to go!
Statement Bag
Whatever you do, don’t head out for Basel without your one of a kind bag. I tend to lean towards clutches for Basel since they are easy to keep track of. If you can find one with a strap, even better, but remember it’s all about unique pieces that define your individual style.
Note: All of the pieces shown above are available at Shop Emporium. For more information about Shop Emporium, please visit their website.
