Today marks the first official day of spring. With the start of a fresh new season, it’s a good time to refresh your wardrobe.
There are lots of fun spring fashion trends that have been making their way from the runway to the real world lately. I believe that fashion is for everyone and I love that there are so many trends that ANYONE can wear this season. Forget everything you’ve been told about dressing for your figure and embrace these trends that can work for you, and even the woman next to you!
Remember ladies, trends will come and go, but style will always remain. While all of the spring fashion trends listed below can work on anyone, it’s about picking the ones that reflect your personal style the best and OWNING your finished look!
Spring Fashion Trends for EVERYbody:
1. Denim- Denim is such a wardrobe staple, that most people would hardly think of it as a trend. It’s time to see denim differently and experiment with wearing the classic fabric. Think beyond jeans and incorporate pieces into your wardrobe, such as sleeveless denim jacket or a shirtdress. The 90s are also making a major comeback, so if you are missing your overalls from 1995, now is your chance to bring them back.
Styling Tip: If denim is too heavy for your climate (like South Florida), opt for its chic relative called chambray instead. Chambray looks similar to denim, but it’s much lighter making it cooler for warmer temperatures.
2. Bare Shoulders- Set your shoulders free this season and reveal them for the world to see. Think off the shoulder, one shoulder, and sweetheart necklines.
3. Lace- I feel like lace is always a trend in the spring, but it’s having a major moment this season, especially white lace. Although lace has a naturally feminine feel, you can create an edgier look by pairing it with other textures, such as faux leather and chambray.
Styling Tip: Head-to-toe white is trending this season, make sure to include white lace into your crispy all white ensemble.
4. Gingham- Bye, bye plaid and hello gingham. This 60s inspired print is making big moves this season and not as a tablecloth in Donald Drapper’s apartment. Pop it into your looks as an accessory or mix it up with your favorite solid colors.
5. Black & White- This isn’t a new trend, but it’s back for another round this season. Black & white is a classic combination, with endless styling possibilities. I personally like to mix prints with black and white. Right now black & white polka dots are hot, but so are striped looks. Need ideas? Here’s a peak at a black and white outfit I recently put together.
Styling Tip: Need a little more color? Add a pop of color into your black & white outfit, like yellow, which will be very popular this spring.
