Spring Trend: Berry Lips
I love spring because after wearing dark lip colors all winter, it feels nice to lighten up for the spring season. As the weather starts to transition from warm to scorching in South Florida, I’ve started to opt for berry lip colors.
Berry lips are super hot this season and took the runway by storm during Fashion Week. The best perk about berry shades, is that they look good on just about anyone, including you! The trick to berry lips, or any lip color for that matter, is finding the shade that’s best suited for you.
If you have a:
Light complexion- Try a bright berry shade in a sheer finish, which will instantly give you a perky appearance.
Try: Maybelline The Elixir in Captivating Carnation
Medium complexion- Medium complexions have a lot of leeway when it comes to berry lips. Try shades of raspberry or even a color with a purple undertone.
Try: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick (color I’m wearing)
Deep complexion- Try a deep shade with deep purple or red undertones, that doesn’t blend in with your skin tone. Think a wine color.
Try: MAC Rebel Lipstick
In the spring, I try to tone down my full-face makeup and opt for lightweight products for a fresh-face appearance. With that said, instead of going for a normal lip color, I suggest you try a lip stain instead. Lip stains give your lips a hint of color that lasts all day. A stain is also great for minimal makeup mavens that prefer a more au-natural look.
If a lip stain isn’t for you, you could also opt for a lip-gloss or a crème lip color, which always looks and feels great in the spring.
What is your favorite berry lip color for spring?
