Maybelline Master Drama By Eyestudio
Cost: $6.99
Store Experience: I purchased this liner at Target. I love target more than words can explain.
Packaging: Typical drugstore brand packaging. Nothing crazy.
The Product: As per the packaging, Master Drama by Eyestudio in Midnight Master (black) is a cream eye pencil. The packaging says it provides skip proof application with a creamy glide. In addition, the color is promised to last 24 hours while being smudge proof and water resistant. All of this, with a bold and dramatic color payoff. The product is safe for sensitive eyes and contact lenses.
The Verdict: The perfect black eye liner is like the perfect “little black dress” to me. I believe every woman needs that liner that they cant live without and use it until theres nothing but pencil shavings left of it. For the last four years I have been in a very serious relationship with my MAC Smoulder liner. You know, the limited edition on you can only get around the holidays at MAC? So, I will admit, I was considering cheating and trying something new. I decided to give the Master Drama pencil a whirl. To start off with, I had high expectations for this product after seeing the adds in magazines and on TV. After reading the information on the package, I was completely sold (And I was at Target, I’d buy anything at Target! I love that place!). Once I got home and had a chance to try it out, I was a little disappointed. The company does keep there word on the smudge proof part, and it does last quite some time (not 24 hours for me). However, when you apply the liner, the tip becomes flat rather than pointed ( you cannot sharpen it) so your lines are thick. Maybe this is what they meant by “bold”. It didn’t allow me as much control of my line as I would have liked. When applied to the lid, the color pay off wasn’t to bad and the pencil did maintain a solid consistency in the application. I did not like the color payoff when applied to the water line. The color wasn’t as pigmented as I was expecting. I guess I was expecting it to look like my MAC Smoulder does. I’m not going to to toss it, but it’s not my favorite black liner. And every woman needs there favorite black liner just as much as they need a “little black dress”. I guess I will use this one for regular days when I’m not going to crazy with my make up looks.
