Nothing excites me more than trying out new beauty products, especially from brands that I love. My pals at Make Up For Ever reached out recently to send me some goodies to try and I literally did a happy dance when the products arrived.
In the box: a selection of Make Up For Ever Ultra HD foundation and Step 1 Equalizer Primer.
Make Up For Ever is the first brand to launch an HD foundation and I reviewed the Make Up For Ever HD foundation many moons ago. It was my first Make Up For Ever purchase at the time, and one of my first product reviews. I’ve come a long way since then, so I think an updated review on the next generation of this iconic product in my kit is necessary!
But first, let’s start off with the product that locks your foundation in place: primer.
Make Up For Ever Step 1 equalizer Primers
There are a lot of primers on the market, but few that cater to your specific needs. Oily skin? Dry skin? Large pores? Don’t worry, Make Up For Ever has got your back. They have 4 primers designed to improve the texture of your skin and to address common skin concerns, such as:
- Oily Skin– Apply directly to oily prone spots
- Normal Skin– Hydrating formula
- Dry Skin– Perfect for nourishing areas of dryness
- Enlarged Pores– Designed to smooth enlarged pores and fine lines
These primers work really nicely with the Ultra HD foundation and really do keep your makeup in place.
My skin is pretty normal, with a few oily areas, such as my chin and the sides of my nose. I like to use a combination of the normal skin ad oily skin primers.
One thing to keep in mind is that a little goes a long way. I was applying too much at first and was wondering why my foundation was rolling off of my face. Once I reduced the amount, I noticed that the product performed better and my foundation lasted longer.
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation
The Make Up For Ever HD foundation has been a staple in my personal and professional makeup kit since I started to do makeup. When I heard that that a new generation of the product was being launched, I was intrigued because I already love the first edition of the product.
The new Makeup Forever HD Foundation still delivers flawless coverage that I have loved for years, while adapting to the new standards of digital devices.
Those not-so-little screens that we love to snap selfies with get better and better everyday. When the resolution of your image improves, so does clarity of any little imperfection on your face. The launch of 4k technology is improving your digital devices, which means that your foundation has to advance with the new standards for you to look your best on screen. I’m not one to push perfection, but I have to admit that I feel my best when I look my best!
Available in both a liquid foundation (40 shades) and a stick form (15 shades), the new Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation is just as awesome as the original product.
The foundation offers buildable coverage that is easy to apply. The formula applies silky smooth, and buffs right into the skin for a very natural coverage. It has a dewy finish (be careful with this if your skin is very oily), that gives a youthful appearance. It’s also my favorite formula of foundation to use when strobing because it goes hand-in-hand with a glowing complexion.
Have you tried the new Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation? What are your thoughts?
