Disclosure: Truly Nolen Pest Control provided me with a complimentary mouse limo ride and as some TRULY fun swag. In addition, Lion Country Safari provided me with a complimentary VIP tour & activities, as well as some WILD swag as part of #TRULYonSafari. All opinions on both companies as well as the things I experienced during the event are 100% my own.
It’s not often that I dress up for a safari, in fact I never have! But when my friends at Truly Nolen invited me on a mouse limo ride (yes these things really exist—in fact there is 3 of them in the country!) through Lion Country, I started digging through my closet quickly. Then I remembered that I don’t have “safariesque” attire, so I improvised with what I had. Quiet honestly, I was more excited about the idea of riding in a custom-made Volkswagon Beetle, than I was to actually style my look for the wild adventure.
It turns out the morning of our trip was pretty cold for South Florida with temperatures in the 50s (we don’t do winter here, remember?), so I had to modify my outfit for my trip. I opted for something that was comfortable, yet chic because I wanted to make sure I impressed the animals when I met them up close and personal.

Myself and a few fabulous South Florida bloggers adventured through Lion Country Safari in the Truly Nolen mouse limo where we were able to see free roaming animal in the 300-acre park! We had a private VIP guided tour, where a Lion Country Safari team member talked us through over 4 miles of untamed wilderness. This was really cool because we were able to see animals like giraffes, zebras, and rhinos interacting free of cages, while learning about them at the same time.
Since it was cool out, the animals were very active through the drive! They kept us giggling the whole way through and we couldn’t resist but to snap tons of pictures. Our driver, Jack, was great at stopping for us to catch all of the action. He’s a pro at driving the mouse limo and has traveled to over 20 states in it since last March!
It was funny to see the animals’ reaction to the limo because they were all interested in the extraordinary Truly Nolen vehicle. I know they see cars every day, but it’s not often that they see one that looks like a giant yellow mouse, complete with ears and a tail!
Once we arrived at the walk-through amusement park, we enjoyed a private show with a few interesting animals, followed by giraffe feeding experience. I think all the girls would agree that feeding the giraffes was one of the coolest moments on the trip.
Fun Fact: One of the giraffes that we met was named Cupid and he was born on Valentine’s Day. While all giraffes have unique markings, Cupid has a heart shaped spot on his lower neck. Isn’t that something?!?!
I loved everything about this trip, but what made it the best day ever for me was getting to meet the flamingos! You already know that I’m obsessed with flamingos, but I have always met them from the other side of the fence. This time I actually got to into the flamingo stomping grounds and hang out with these quirky creatures. I was surprised to see that they took to me so well, but I think it was the pink hair that caught their attention.
My #TrulyOnSafari adventure was one of the most exciting experiences I have had in a long time. I loved meeting the animals, hanging out with all of the wonderful people, and re-exploring a place that I enjoyed when I was a kid.
