I would like to introduce the very first guest blogger post to everyone!
As I mentioned before, I will be hosting a monthly guest blogger post that will coincide with my monthly makeup theme. The guest blogger will give a little info about themselves and will create a look and tutorial to go with the theme.
Eileen is the first guest blogger and is also the first friend I made in the blog world. Eileen has a very interesting blog, that is super diverse and fun to read. Read on to learn more about Eileen and the look she created for this months “Comic Book” makeup series!
Bio:
Your name? Eileen
Location? Southern California
Name of your blog and what it’s about? The Sneakerette—it’s a conglomeration of my interests through my photography, including anything sneakers, nail polish, makeup, cars, food, etc.
Name of the look you created? Jordan Spizike “Knicks”
Description of the look? The cut crease is based on an orange and blue colorway featured on the Jordan Spizike “Knicks”.
Post:
When people think of comic books, typically superhero ones come to mind. However, for my “comic book series” inspired look, I decided to go with an underground comic known as SN’EADS by Ree, which is an online comic about the subculture of sneakerheads.
For my look, I drew inspiration from one of the strips featuring the Jordan Spizike “Knicks” because I thought orange and blue would be cool colors to bring together.
Here’s a picture tutorial on how I created this look!
Start off by priming your lids. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion.
If you have sparse brows like me, fill them in! I used a Rimmel Brow Pencil in Black Brown, then set it with my Shiseido Eyebrow Compact in Deep Brown.
Pat an orange color onto half of your lids, bringing it just above the lids so that only a bit of color shows when the eyes are opened. I used the orange from my Sleek Circus palette with my MAC 239 brush.
Pat a royal blue color onto the outer half of the lid, blending the orange and blue in the middle. I used the blue from my Sephora Edun palette with the other side of my MAC 239.
Apply Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy on the lids.
Repeat steps 3 and 4. The colors should be a lot more intense due to the Pixie Epoxy.
Since Pixie Epoxy makes shadows a bit hard to blend, take some orange or blue to further blend the two colors together. I used my MAC 217 to blend.
Take some black shadow with a pencil brush. Starting from the outer corner, trace the top of the orange and blue, following the shape of your lid. Continue this process starting from the outer corner to build up the black shadow. I used the black from my Sleek Circus Palette with my MAC 219 brush.
Take a fluffy blending brush and blend the black shadow upwards. I used my MAC 224 brush.
Use a color similar to your lids and apply it just below your brows. Then, blend the color into the black. I used the topmost left color from my Wet n Wild Vanity palette with my ELF eyeshadow brush.
Highlight your browbone. I used the topmost right color from my Wet n Wild Vanity palette with my ELF blending brush.
Highlight the inner corner of your eyes.
Line your eyes with a black eyeliner. I used MAC Fluidline with my Sephora Angled Eyeliner brush.
Line your waterline with a royal blue eyeliner. I used Cargo Swimmables in Royal Blue.
Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I used my Shiseido lash curler and Covergirl Volume Exact Mascara in Very Black.
And that’s it! Here’s the finished look:
