The weather is warming up here in Palm Beach, Florida and it’s officially shorts season. Rather than wearing my traditional denim shorts, I decided to try something new this season. Floral prints were in full bloom on the runways, and the trend has officially hit the streets. I have seen floral print shorts everywhere and I’m sure they will seamlessly transition into the summer.
I saw these high-waisted floral print Challis Shorts at Target and I knew I needed to have them. I love the combination of sunflowers and the super trendy mint color in the background of the print. The shorts are also very soft, comfy and give the illusion of a skirt from a distance.
The fitted waist helps create a defined waistline, which defines your curves. As a full-figured fashionista, I always want to highlight my curves in the most flattering way. These shorts have a pleated front, which has been known to make you look heavier, but I disagree. I find that the defined waistband helps to define the waistline and create a curvier look.
Since my floral print shorts were screaming for attention, I decided to pair them with a simple black V-neck tee to balance out the look.

To dress up my outfit, I paired it with some chunky jewelry. I love combining classic pearls with my rocker-chic spiked cuff. I also included a bright mint envelope style cross body bag. This light-weight bag is sure to turn heads and it’s perfect for an afternoon shopping trip or a green market excursion.
