Event Recap: Glam-A-Thon Lipstick Lounge Event
October is a significant month because it’s breast cancer awareness month, and as blogger I feel that it’s important for me to help spread the word about organizations in South Florida that are striving to find a cure for this terrible disease.
Earlier this month I attended the Lipstick Lounge Event at Passion Nigh Club in the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. This fiercely fashionable event was hosted by Glam-A-Thon, a local organization dedicated to helping women battling breast cancer in South Florida.
The event had a super feminine feel, with pink décor in every nook and cranny. Everyone was wearing their best pink clothing and accessories, with people sporting pink boas being my favorite.
There were many things going on at the lively event. From pink glitter makeup applications, pink hair extension, silent auctions, to people having a great time dancing on stage. Personally, I spent my time browsing through all of the activities, chatting with a few local bloggers and trying to keep my hands off the cupcakes.
This entire event was lined wall to wall in sinful sweets. There were enough desserts and pastries to induce a visual sugar coma, but hey, I wasn’t complaining.
I felt like a food blogger because I kept snapping shots of all of the cute little desserts, but how I can resist snapping pics of caramel apples with pretty pink sprinkle patterns?
I had a wonderful time at the event and was totally stoked when I received the hefty swag bag provided by sponsors of Glam-A-Thon. I’m still working on going through all of the wonderful goodies inside of the bag!
I’m thrilled that I was invited to this event which helps so man women in my local community. All of the funds raised at the Lipstick Lounge event will benefit the Broward Health Foundation. The funds will help give assistance to under-insured or uninsured women in South Florida seeking preventative care such as mammograms and those currently battling breast cancer.
