Given the choice between pants and a skirt, I’ll always opt for a sizzling skirt. You gals know that this plus size fashionista can never have enough skirts, especially since I wear them so often. Typically, the midi skirt is my go-to option. It’s a staple in my wardrobe, which is why I even wrote a guide on how to wear midi skirts.
But guess what? Just like life, fashion is about challenging yourself to try new things.
I stepped out of my comfort zone and and into a denim skirt recently. Not just any denim skirt, but a pencil skirt to be exact. Now this is a style that I typically avoid. Mostly because a lot of the pencil skirts I have tried in the past create a belly line. I’m body positive and all that, but I’m simply just not a fan of this look on me. Luckily, I found away to conceal the belly bulge a bit while rockin’ a curve huggin’ silhouette.
Enter the denim pencil skirt.
With the return of the ’90s, the denim skirt is also making it’s way into the wardrobe rotation, at least in my closet it is. Since I discovered this skirt, it’s become one of my favorite clothing options. The thing I love most about wearing a denim skirt is the flexibility it gives me when styling an outfit. It’s just like a classic pair of jeans, except much cooler (literally!) than wearing pants. This particular skirt from Fashion To Figure is a lot of fun because it has a edgy buttons and bold stitches. From dressed up, to dressed down, my new skirt is going to be making several appearances on the blog in the coming months!
