Truth: Mixing prints is one of the trickiest styling techniques for me. A few years ago I wouldn’t even try to mix prints, but as my style has evolved, I’ve welcomed an array of patterns into my outfits. With Independence Day right around the corner, I decided to put my mixing skills to the test to create a cute plus 4th of July outfit idea to share with you today.
For my look today, I took a lot of inspiration from one of my #UnitedlyPlus girls, Sheena. She is the plus size queen of mixing prints and tackles this style flawlessly. The funny thing is that she told me that a few years ago, she only wore solid colors. These words got my creative juices flowing, which is why I challenged myself to mix prints and pair them with my 4th of July dress from Gwynnie Bee. They are always so sweet, and sent me this dress for the holiday to share my #RedWhiteGB style with you!
This fun 4th of July inspired look is perfect for spending the day celebrating outdoors. Whether you are attending a rood top party or heading to the beach to check out the fireworks, this is a look that can transition to any occasion. Personally, I will be attending a BBQ and afterwards I will be making another stop at this adorable ice cream shop where I took these pics at to grab a sweet treat before the fireworks show. If you live in the Boynton Beach area, you have to check out the Boardwalk Italian Ice & Creamery. They make homemade ice cream that is delicious in a wide variety of flavors. My personal favorite? The cookie butter! Yes, they use the Cookie Butter from Trader Joe’s to make the ice cream. It’s simply magical!
