Some people chose human children, but I’ve opted for furry four-legged ones instead. If you follow me on Snapchat (@PrettyInPigment in case you’ve been missing out) where I share a glimpse of my everyday life, you’ve seen how spoiled these pups really are. They hog my bed every morning. Guilt me into feeding them treats too often. For goodness sake, I’ve even made them homemade dog ice cream!
But as much as much as I love my fur babies, I have to admit that I was selfish when I bought my car. I was swooned by the idea of a sleek sedan and I didn’t take my dogs into consideration. I mean it’s not that they can never ride in the car, it’s just not ideal on a regular basis, especially on a long trip. It’s a bummer because they really enjoy going on rides and exploring new dog parks in different areas.
They’ve been begging for a car ride and their doberman desires came true when we recently had the chance to test drive the Mazda CX-9!
Mazda CX-9: A Big Dog Friendly SUV
This SUV caused major tail wagging around our house and the second the back door opened, the dobermans hopped inside and made themselves comfortable for a ride.
This full-size SUV has 7 seats and the third-row seats fold down, so there’s plenty of leg room for the dogs to lie down in the back. Diesel generally likes to stand up and look out the window when he’s in the car, but he’s a big boy so he usually has to crouch down to get a good view. This wasn’t the case in the Mazda CX-9 because there was ample head room for him stand. Gia really appreciated the extra room, so that she can quietly lay away from Diesel. Even Grandma and Grandpa were able to join us on a trip to the dog park, without having to sacrifice leg room in the second-row seats.
Brandon and I really enjoyed the extra space that the Mazda CX-9 has to offer, but we’reĀ all about the technology and safety when it comes to a vehicle. This car came loaded with some of our favorite features which include:
- Blind Spot Monitoring
- Bose Surround Sound
- Beautiful Full-Color Media Display
Did I mention the SiriusXM Satellite Radio? It’s such a treat to listen to my favorite songs without commercials! Although, I don’t think that anyone appreciated my loud singing as I listen to the Broadway station. Lol.
We had such a great time in this gorgeous SUV and took advantage of the time we had with the vehicle to travel with the dobermans. It’s nice to be able to go on a smooth ride with the entire family, including the furry kids! I’m not contemplating switching over to an SUV instead of my sedan.
What do you think of the Mazda CX-9? Would your big dogs approve of this ride?
