5 Ways to Wear Winged Eyeliner
Whether you prefer to call the eye lining technique “winged liner” or “cat eyes,” this timeless liner look is here to stay. The winged liner is not a new trend; in fact, this lining style dates back to the Egyptians. Centuries later, darling divas such as Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn wore this iconic look and women today are still enjoying liner with flair.
This look is not fading away any time soon.
Why you ask? Because winged liner in the perfect way to define your eyes and contour the natural shape of your peepers. It instantly creates a flirty appeal to your eyes and draws attention to the most captivating feature on your face. Not to mention, as you age your eyes begin to droop and winging your liner instantly supports sagging eyes, giving you a mini face lift with a simple stoke of color!
The possibilities on how to wing your liner are nearly endless, but I would like to share my 5 favorite ways to wing it your way!
5 Ways to Wear Winged Eyeliner
1. Classic Cat Eye
The classic cat eye is a staple look and works for most women. The best part of the look is that it’s very sleek and simple, which is why it’s my go-to lining look. This look can be created both using a pencil, liquid or gel liner, but I prefer to use gel liner and an angled brush.
2. Kitten Eye Some ladies aren’t quite ready to release their wild side to try the classic cat eye, and that’s ok. The kitten eye is a more subtle rendition of the cat eye and works great for beginners or for an everyday look. This look great with with a pop of color lippie too!
3. Pop of Color Wing
For an unexpected pop of color try creating a colorful winged look. This is an over the top colorful rainbow liner look I created a few years ago, but you get the point. This is an easy way to add a burst of fun to your look and a great accessory to your little black dress this holiday season. Colors to consider for the season are green, blue and purple!
4. Smoked Out Wing

We have been seeing the smoky eye and winged liner non-stop on the runways for season now. Create a hybrid look by pairing the two looks together to create this fashionable, yet sultry look. This look was created by my friend Aracely, from Your Beauty Defined, make sure to check out her blog.
5. Extreme Wing
This is a statement eye look, and personally one of my favorite way to rock winged liner. I this look by using 3 shades of blue eye shadow and blending them into my black liner. Looks like this can be trick and messy, so make sure to keep pointed cosmetic cotton swab on hand soaked in makeup remover.
