3 Ways to Style a Shift Dress

plus size shift dress

A shift dress is a staple in my wardrobe. I feel in love with this silhouette a few years ago because it’s not only a flattering, but versatile too. With the right accessories, a plus size shift dress easily goes from work to play in no time. One thing is for sure, regardless how you style a shift dress, you can always count on looking stylish and effortless in the look.

I recently added a new Elliptical hem cotton knit shift dress by eShakti into my wardrobe rotation and it has been a total game changer. The high-low hem on the dress gives my look an added touch of chic that I really like, but what I love most is that eShakti gives me the option to totally customize the dress to my liking.

When I was picking out my dress from eShakti, I was able to select the measurement, sleeve of my choice, neckline, and the right length for my height. As a short plus size woman this is amazing because I know that I’m getting something that is made for ME for an incredible price. Can you imagine what it would cost to get a dress custom made? You should also know that you don’t have to be a plus size fashionista to shop for eShakti because they make clothing for all bodies. From sizes 0 to 36, as well as custom sizing on all of their merchandise, they’ve got ALL women covered!

I  know that eShakti gives the option to customize any piece, but I ordered my plus size shift dress exactly how it appeared on their website because I like how it looks. The dress has pockets and is made of cozy cotton jersey knit with just the right amount of stretch. Can you say total DREAM?!?!

Ever since I got my dress in the mail I have been wearing it endless ways. From meetings, to hanging out on my roof top, I have worn this dress at least twice a week. (don’t judge me!).  I love my new dress so much that I have been having a lot of fun styling it in different ways– Take a look!

This look is perfect for an afternoon of shopping or just hanging out with some gal pals on a sunny afternoon. It’s low key, but still stylish. It also incorporates one of the season’s hottest trends, which is pairing a dress/skirt with athletic shoes.

I’m all about looks that have some edge to them and I create them by mixing textures and silhouettes. I love how a shift dress pairs with a bomber jacket, which is a major trend this spring. The long necklace and booties are the finishing touches to this street style-ready look.

My favorite thing about this look is how well the pink and olive green tones in my look play together. It’s flirty and fun, and possibly my look for Valentine’s Day. Most importantly– I’M WEARING FLAMINGOS!!!
