The Saturday after Thanksgiving is no ordinary day. While it may mark day 3 of reinventing a turkey sandwich and the first official weekend day of the holiday season, it’s something much bigger than that. In my book, it’s even more significant than Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales combined. That’s a pretty big deal my friends. That’s because this November 26th is Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to shopping at local businesses.
Small business Saturday is day that was started by American Express to help stimulate local economies. The movement has grown so much through the years that even the U.S. Senate recognizes the day and its become a national movement. In fact, according to a survey conducted by American Express, over 95 million people participated in this holiday shopping tradition in 2015.
Are you shopping small in Seattle this November 26th? I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite fashionable businesses located right here in the Puget Sound, as well as some fashionable local events you may want to check out throughout the holiday season! If you Don’t feel like getting out of your PJs to shop, it’s cool, most of these local spots have online shops too.
