The Saturday after Thanksgiving is no ordinary day. While it may mark day 3 of reinventing a turkey sandwich and the first official weekend day of the holiday season, it’s something much bigger than that. In my book, it’s even more significant than Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales combined. That’s a pretty big deal, my friends. That’s because this November 30th is Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to shopping at local businesses.
Small business Saturday is a day that was started by American Express to help stimulate local economies. The movement has grown so much through the years that even the U.S. Senate recognizes the day and it became a national movement. In fact, according to a survey conducted by American Express, over 95 million people participated in this holiday shopping tradition in 2015.
Are you shopping small in Seattle this November 30th? I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite fashionable businesses located right here in Seattle, Washington. If you Don’t feel like getting out of your PJs to shop, it’s cool, most of these local spots have online shops too.

Lika Love Fashion Boutique

If you’re a West Seattle local, you may be familiar with Lika’s mobile boutique. What started off as a boutique on wheels has quickly turned into a Seattle favorite. Lika now has three boutique locations in the area, but the West Seattle location is one I’ve actually visited. The store has a curated selection of boutique clothing, with select styles in plus sizes. What makes Lika’s boutique different than the rest is that they offer personal styling. This is perfect if you have a busy schedule, looking to refresh your wardrobe, or like a little help when shopping for a new look.

From sheet masks to fashion accessories, this colorful little shop is filled with self-care goodies. But don’t forget, it’s the holiday season, so don’t forget to stock up on gifts for your loved ones. Need a place to start? They have a huge selection of sheet masks for under $10. Pretty Parlor
Address: 119 Summit Ave E., Seattle, WA
Small Business Saturday Hours: 11 AM – 7 PM
Some shops sell nice things, but don’t really look picturesque. Others don’t have great things but look adorable. Well, Pretty Parlor has both! This quirky boutique takes you back in time to the era of Mad Men and Marvelous Mrs. Masiel. They sell vintage-inspired clothing, as well as authentic vintage, and fun accessories. I especially love the collection of handmade acrylic necklaces, earrings, and brooches.
