Disclosure: I received a complimentary Xtreme Xperience for editorial consideration. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
My husband and I have always had something in common– we both love fast cars. My hubs used to have his own race car (I’m using that term lightly here), but it’s always been a dream for us to have a supercar. In fact, before buying our house we seriously contemplated buying a Nissan GT-R. The fantasy ended and adulting came into play, instead, we opted for our digs instead of our Fast and The Furious dreams. Since I know that my hubs loves fast cars, I decided to give him the gift of a supercar for a day with Xtreme Xperience for his birthday.
Ok, ok, so maybe I didn’t actually give him a supercar that he got take home. He did get to have a REAL supercar experience when Xtreme Xperience came to Seattle, Washington. Rather than a gift that has little significance, driving a supercar is something he will have with him for the rest of his life. And the best part? I got to join in on the fun too! #Winning

About our Xtreme Xperience Experience
I’m not even going to lie. I was pretty nervous about driving a supercar. I’ve had my fair share of driving fast in modified cars (I’m from south Florida after all), but the idea of driving a car that costs more than a house is a bit nerve-wracking. Even Brandon was a little nervous about the whole idea.
These supercars reach speeds over 150 MPH. They are not modified or governed, so you get to drive them at their full potential while being in full control. Passing? Speeding? Flooring it? It’s all allowed. It’s hard to believe that they would let anyone off the street drive one of these cars. Well, they do. Put that into perspective. It’s pretty exciting and scary at the same time, right?
When we arrived at the track, the experience started off with a quick driving lesson. This isn’t your regular DMV driving test, it’s more about the rules of the road on the track. This is where I learned that there would be a professional driver in the car with me (and everyone who goes on an Xtreme Xperience). I was relieved to hear this, so at least I knew I was being set up for success. But keep in mind, the driver has no controls, they are simply there to guide you while you’re in TOTAL control of the wheel, gas, and brakes.
After that, we headed to the track to do a ride along in Chevy SS before getting behind the wheel ourselves. This was an experience in its self. The professional driver got us familiar with the track and how to drive on it, and it was NOTHING like what I expected. The guy drove crazy, but in a controlled chaos kind of way. We were skating around the curves, and I couldn’t believe we lapped the track 3 times in under five minutes. Brandon and I spent the whole time laughing because we were being thrashed around the back seat from the sharp turns we were taking.
Next, is the moment of truth– driving the actual supercars!
You’d think we picked our dream car (Nissan GT-R) for this experience, but neither one of us did. We figured that maybe we’d get a chance to drive a GT-R easier in the future than an exotic car. Brandon opted for the Ferrari 458 Italia. I, on the other hand, opted for the Lamborghini Huracan. We had a little friendly competition going on of who was going to reach the highest speeds during our time on the track.
Speaking of the time on the track, it goes by in the blink of an eye. It feels like one minute your at the starting line and the next thing you know the whole thing is over. It’s an adrenaline rush for sure. With these supercars, you barely have to hit the gas and they are practically flying. It’s a good thing that there’s a friendly coach in the passenger seat to help guide you because the whole thing just happens so fast.
Pic or it didn’t happen!
When you get out of the car, you feel like you’re still on top of the world. We both agree that it’s one of the best things we’ve ever done. Brandon especially loved this birthday experience, and now he has high standards for his next birthday gift. He’s not only been telling all his buddies about his laps around the track in a supercar, but he’s been SHOWING them too. The crew is super nice and gave us plenty of chances to take photos. They even took a photo of us with Brandon’s birthday cake!
What could be better than a photo? a video.
Since the Xtreme Xperience happens so fast, it’s a good thing that they give you a video of your driving experience. The video is better than any phone video you could take yourself because it’s synced with the car. It shows your view, the view of you, the track, and your speed during the ride. I ended up losing our competition for who could go the fastest. Brandon ended up beating me by 5 MPH as he reached 140 MPH during his drive.
I’m working on taking my video clip and making a video of our entire time at the track, check back soon to watch it!
