I love having themed parties and hosting a Galentine’s Day party for all of my gal pals has been at the top of my list for a long time. Since it was my turn to host a brunch for my fellow group of bloggin’ babes, I decided it was the perfect time to host a colorful party themed around one of the most lovable holidays of the year. I spent over a month planning out all of the details for the party and put together some tips on how to host a Galentine’s Day party along the way.
Tips for hosting a Colorful Galentine’s Day Party
Pick a Theme
Brunch is my favorite meal of the day for me, and lucky for me, my girl squad is on the same wave as me on this one. That’s why I decided to host a brunch event for my Galentine’s Day bash.
If brunch isn’t your thing, it’s totally cool. In fact, your party doesn’t have to be themed around a meal. A few other ideas are a Galentine’s day tea party, spa party, ice cream party, and even a PJ party could be tons of fun.
The most important thing to keep in mind when selecting your theme is picking one that resonates with your guest list and budget. If you’d like to save some cash in the food department, consider doing light snacks instead.
Curate your guest (a.k.a gal pal) list
Speaking of your guest list, let’s talk about how to figure out who to invite to your Galentine’s day event.
If you’d like to have an intimate get together, make sure to pick guests that will mix well together. I feel pretty lucky to have an expansive group of girlfriends, but for this Galentine’s day brunch party I decided to invite my bloggin’ babes.
On my guest list (from left to right):
– Asa from Lace & Pearls Blog
– Jenn from Hello Rigby
– Megan from Diary of This Girl Megan
– Kate from All Things Kate
– Ana from Northwest Blonde
We all have something in common, so it made it easy to keep conversations going.
When putting your list together you may want to invite your childhood besties, book club gang, or a few of your friends from work. This could also be a great opportunity to introduce friends that have similar interests. I love seeing my party guests become friends after meeting at one of my events.
Party Decor– It’s All About The Details!
Now for my favorite part— the decorations! I swear I would decorate my house for a party every day if I could. I enjoy putting color palettes together and making DIY decorations, like my DIY tissue paper flower garland.
If you need a little help (or a lot of help) in the decorating department, Confetë Party Box has got your back. They are a Tacoma, Washington based company that takes the stress of party decorating out of your hands.
The ladies at Confetë Party Box collaborated with me to help me bring my Galentine’s Day party ideas together. I created a Pinterest board with party inspiration and color palettes. From there, I put the items I had gathered for the party together with their party in a box.
Confetë Party Box sent over their Galentine’s Day party in a box and within an hour I was able to create my party space. My favorite touch (and guest favorite? Of course, the heart-shaped balloons that Confetë Party Box sent over! They were the perfect accessory for my selfie station and for outfit photos after our brunch. #BloggerLife

Choose Bites & Bevies for Everyone to Enjoy
Dietary restrictions are a big thing these days. As someone that falls into that category, I feel that it’s important to have a good mix of food and drinks for your guest list. Before the party, I checked with all of my guests to see if they had any dietary restrictions or food allergies. Then, I created my menu so that no one was left out.
The fan favorite from my food spread was the make your own waffle station. I picked up a pink mini waffle maker and everyone made their own. The dessert station was also a big hit and all the girls contributed treats to the table.

Goodie Bags to Send Your Guests Off with a Smile 🙂
Everyone loves a good party, but do you know what they love even more? Party favors! I created little gift bags for each of my guest in collaboration with Image Skincare. They are from my hometown and I wanted to share some of my favorite Image Skincare items with my guests (the Ormedic Lip balm is on my holy grail list!).
I also had a candy bar and each of the lovely ladies took treats home for later. The candy bar was a colorful touch and it was easy to put together. I had a variety of candies, along with cute little bags to put the treats inside.
