In Florida, winters have a tropical twist. We don’t have snow-covered fields with rows of Frasier furs. Instead we have warm, sandy beaches lined with palm trees. While the rest of the country is snuggling up to the holiday season with a cup of hot cocoa, I’m just over hear in my beanie pretending that it’s cool enough to actually wear it outside of my air conditioned home.
I miss cold winters, especially the winter trip that I took to New York two years ago to visit family. It was also the first time that my boyfriend and I experienced REAL wintery weather together. It was his first time visiting New York City, so we spent time at all of the typical tourist attractions and the places that I used to hang out at when I lived there. We ate cupcakes at my favorite spot, saw a Broadway show, and even had a snowball fight! Let me tell you, nothing brings out the kid inside of you better than fresh snow that is begging to be formed into a ball to pin on a freezing Floridians head!
In all of the hustle and bustle that New York City has during this time of year, we actually had a very peaceful trip that we still talk about all of the time.
Floridan Winter Wonderland With Glade
They say that a certain scent can remind you of a certain time in your life. While I was shopping at Publix, I decided to browse for something to bring the smell of the season into my home and the BE AT PEACE™ Jar Candle from the Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection was my favorite. The scent takes me back to my memories of New York and each time I smell the scent in the air, it brings a smile to my face.
How I Created A Florida Winter Wonderland With Glade®
This trip to New York is one of my favorite memories and with the help of the new Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection, I can wrap my home in the scent that brings out the holiday spirit inside of me. Between my Glade® Jar Candle, Glade® plugIns® Scented Oils, and my holiday decorations, my house is a “Florida-esque” winter wonderland! I may not have snow, but it doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy all of the other wonderful things that the season brings in Florida. Like driving with my boyfriend to look at Christmas lights, taking our pups to take pictures with Santa, bonfires with friends, and baking holiday cookies!
What is your favorite holiday memory? How does the new Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection help bring out the feeling of those memories for you?
