Creepy Ventriloquist Doll Makeup Look
Tis the season for ghosts and ghouls—Halloween is right around the corner!
This year I have prepared a handful of Halloween makeup looks for my 3rd Annual Halloween Makeup Series. I have put together looks for a variety of characters, from creepers to beauties and tips on how to recreate the looks at home. Check out my last two creations: A beautiful mermaid and a Hunger Games inspired makeup look.
Creep Ventriloquist Doll Makeup Look
This week, I have put together a look that I find particularly disturbing. I’ve always had a fear of creepy puppets ever since I was a young girl. I believe my favorite childhood book series, Goosebumps, may be the culprit behind this fear. I remember there was an episode about a creepy ventriloquist doll that caused me several sleepless nights as a kid.
So, I decided to put on my big girl panties and face my fear of creepy dolls, by creating a creepy ventriloquist doll makeup look.
This is a pretty creepy look that is perfect for a Halloween party or a scary getup while passing out candy to trick-or-treaters. It’s pretty simple to achieve this makeup look and the costume for the look can be put together with items from your closet and local thrift store.
Tips For Creating a Creepy Ventriloquist Doll Makeup Look:
- Create a doll like look to your skin, but using browns to contour and white to high light. The contours and highlights should be pretty heavy. I personally like to use my airbrush to create this effect.
- The creep factor in this look is all in the eyes. Create doll eyes by lining your water line in white and also whiteout your lashes and under eye area. Apply your lashes where the white ends to make your eyes appear larger.
- There is also something creepy about not having brows. For this look I concealed Amy’s brows using the glue stick method and applied create foundation over the. Then I created brows above her natural brows.
